Over 1.33 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses still available with States: Centre

Over 25 crore vaccine doses have been offered to States and UTs thus far, via the federal government of India (freed from cost channel) and thru direct State procurement class.

More than 1.33 crore COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with States and Union Territories and over three lakh doses are within the pipeline and can be acquired by them inside the subsequent three days, the Union Health Ministry mentioned on Wednesday.

Over 25 crore vaccine doses have been offered to States and UTs thus far, via the federal government of India (freed from cost channel) and thru direct State procurement class.

Of this, the entire consumption, together with wastage, is 23,74,21,808 doses (in accordance with knowledge available at 8 a.m. on Wednesday), the Ministry mentioned.

“A total of 1,33,68,727 COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with States and UTs to be administered. “Furthermore, 3,81,750 vaccine doses are in the pipeline and will be received by states and UTs within the next three days,” the Ministry mentioned.

As a part of the nationwide vaccination drive, the federal government of India has been supporting States and UTs by offering them COVID-19 vaccines freed from cost.

In addition, the federal government of India has additionally been facilitating direct procurement of vaccines by States and UTs.

Vaccination is an integral pillar of the great technique of the federal government of India for containment and administration of the pandemic, alongside with ‘test, track, treat’ and COVID-19 acceptable behaviour.

Implementation of the liberalised and accelerated phase-3 technique of COVID-19 vaccination had began from May 1 this 12 months.

Under the technique, in each month 50% of the entire Central Drugs Laboratory (CDL) cleared vaccine doses of any producer could be procured by the federal government of India.
