Central team reaches Bengal to assess cyclone damage

A seven-member Inter-Ministerial Central Team (IMCT), which can assess the damage brought on by cyclone Yaas in West Bengal by visiting affected areas, reached Kolkata on Sunday night, an official mentioned.


The team headed by S Ok Shahi, Joint Secretary within the Ministry of Home Affairs, is scheduled to full its evaluation by June 9 and return to Delhi, he mentioned.

On Monday, the IMCT will go to Digha and Mandarmani in Purba Medinipur district, the place state authorities officers will give a presentation on the damage brought on by the cyclone, the official mentioned.
